This piece of art known under the name on The Murphy Auditorium was build on the property of the American Surgeon’s College in order to host ACS meetings and serve as a educational center for surgeons.

The architectural design of this Auditorium brings together different renaissance features found in both the Chapelle de Notre Dame and the commemorative monument of the Bazar de la Charite Fire from Paris. Because they needed more space for offices and various departments, those from the ACS proposed a renovating plan for the interior of the Auditorium.

Thus, in 1987 the actual pattern of the building prints was changed and the construction began. It was 2006 when the work completed and the Auditorium returned to it’s fully use.
